Optimized class builds, powerful multiclass combinations, and feat selections for every playstyle.
These builds have been tested across all three acts and difficulty settings. They maximize damage output, survivability, and utility while remaining fun to play. Each build includes recommended race, ability scores, class progression, and key equipment.

The Sorcadin combines Paladin's heavy armor and Divine Smite with Sorcerer's spell slots and metamagic. This build delivers the highest burst damage in the game by converting sorcery points into spell slots for additional smites.
This build dominates the first round of combat. Gloomstalker's Dread Ambusher grants an extra attack and bonus damage on the first turn. Combined with Assassin's automatic critical hits against surprised enemies, you can eliminate key targets before they act.
Tempest Domain clerics are the masters of battlefield control. Their Channel Divinity: Destructive Wrath maximizes lightning and thunder damage, making spells like Call Lightning devastating. They also wear heavy armor and can heal, making them incredibly versatile.
The simplest yet effective build for beginners. Champion Fighters crit on 19-20, regenerate health, and gain extra fighting styles. With heavy armor and a greatsword or sword-and-board, they are nearly unkillable while dealing consistent damage.
Hexblade Warlocks use Charisma for weapon attacks, making them SAD (Single Ability Dependent). Eldritch Blast with Agonizing Blast and Repelling Blast provides the best cantrip damage in the game. Pact of the Blade allows melee flexibility.
Multiclassing in BG3 requires meeting ability score prerequisites. You need 13 in the key stats of both your current and new class. For example, multiclassing from Fighter to Wizard requires 13 Strength or Dexterity and 13 Intelligence.
